The Miami Heat have officially tabbed Justise Winslow as the team's starting point guard.
"It's a big responsibility," head coach Erik Spoelstra said on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds. "He loves those kinds of challenges."
Veteran Goran Dragic, the Heat's usual starting point guard, has sat out 15 of the team's last 17 games and is expected to miss another two months after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last week.
Winslow has mostly played forward in Spoelstra's rotation since being drafted 10th overall out of Duke in 2015.
The Heat are on a bit of a hot streak, posting a 9-3 record in their past 12 outings while climbing back to .500. They're currently seventh in the Eastern Conference standings.
