Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks addressed some of the issues surrounding his team on Tuesday, attempting to downplay what occurred in a recent volatile practice.
"You move on as a family," Brooks said, via The Washington Post's Candace Buckner.
"Thanksgiving is right around the corner. There's going to be many arguments over the Thanksgiving dinner. I had it as a family. You guys probably had it as a family, but hopefully you hash it out before you finish up your pumpkin pie."
Point guard John Wall reportedly cursed at the coach during the practice. Wall also allegedly got into an altercation with teammate Jeff Green.
Brooks, who was a player in the NBA for a decade, explained that emotions frequently run high, including when he played for the Houston Rockets during one of the team's title seasons in the '90s.
"The Rocket team that I was on in '94 it could've happened," he said. "I'm not going to say every day, but it was some crazy, crazy moments during that season. Not minimizing it, but as a team you got to accept what was said, and like I said I'm not proud of what I said. And John and our players are the same way."
The Wizards will take their 5-11 record into Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
