T-Wolves will have Prince-only soundtrack for 'City Edition' jersey debut

Friday night's game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Portland Trail Blazers will double as a tribute to Prince.

In addition to donning their Prince-inspired "City Edition" jerseys for the first time, the Timberwolves announced they will be only be playing music by the late singer. Fans in attendance will get to vote for which songs they'd like to hear.

Morris Day, who was the lead vocalist of The Time, a Minneapolis-based band assembled by Prince, will perform at halftime.

"It's just a blessing man, everything is coming full circle. For me to be a part of this franchise when we have a Prince themed jersey? That's something that you dream about as a kid," Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose told Julian Andrews of the team's website. "I'm a huge fan, my family is too, my older friends are too and I had the blessing of seeing him in concert before he passed in Chicago, so it's all coming full circle. I'm honored to be here."
