Report: Clippers discussing Butler trade with T-Wolves
The Los Angeles Clippers have had discussions with the Minnesota Timberwolves about a potential deal for disgruntled All-Star Jimmy Butler, according to Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.
Timberwolves team president and head coach Tom Thibodeau has reportedly been asking for a top-tier player in return for Butler, which includes Clippers forward Tobias Harris. According to Haynes, the Clippers refuse to include Harris in trade talks.
Thibodeau reportedly doesn't want to discuss a deal with the Clippers as the coach is still attempting to resolve any lingering issues with Butler, hoping he'll have a change of heart and withdraw his trade request.
Butler reportedly listed the Clippers as one of his preferred landing spots after he initially demanded a trade out of Minnesota.
L.A. will have enough salary cap space next summer to offer Butler a max contract.
