Report: Butler 'most determined' to join Clippers
Jimmy Butler has reportedly requested a trade, and there's one destination that appears to appeal to him most.
The Minnesota Timberwolves star would like to be in Los Angeles, although, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, it's the Clippers that Butler is "most determined" to join. Earlier Wednesday, Wojnarowski reported the Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks were considered Butler's preferred destinations, though Los Angeles looks to have gained a slight edge.
While there was speculation that Butler might be interested in joining the Lakers, the addition of LeBron James reportedly lowered their appeal to the 29-year-old, who'd rather not play second fiddle.
According to Woj, the Clippers would have the cap room next summer to bring in another star at the max to partner with Butler, an idea that is said to intrigue him.
Butler averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists over 59 games last season.
