Scottsdale prosecutor reviewing incident involving Harden, cellphone
An investigation involving a woman who claims Houston Rockets guard James Harden tossed her cellphone onto the roof of a nightclub in Scottsdale, Ariz., last month is currently under review by the city prosecutor, according to the Arizona Republic's Uriel Garcia.
A nine-page police report was released Thursday with Harden's name redacted.
"The information regarding Harden's name and all parties that were interviewed will be available upon final approval of the case detective," said Scottsdale police spokesman Sgt. Ben Hoster.
According to the police report, an unnamed 42-year-old woman said she was recording an altercation outside of a nightclub on Aug. 11 that involved a member of Harden's entourage. She said Harden, who was also watching the fight, grabbed her phone and tossed it onto the roof, apparently believing she was going to sell the footage.
The woman told police that a member of Harden's group offered her $200 for the phone, and that Harden later added another $300. But despite being paid $500 in total, the woman told officers the money didn't justify her phone being taken away.
She did manage to retrieve the phone, but stated that it suffered water damage as a result of the throw, according to the police report.
The woman was also treated for a wrist injury at a local hospital.
