Report: Kawhi, Green to undergo physicals with Raptors on Friday
Following the landscape-altering trade between the Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green are reportedly scheduled to undergo their physicals in Toronto on Friday, according to the San Antonio Express-News' Jeff McDonald.
As is the condition of any trade, all players involved in the transaction - including outgoing Raptors DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl - must undergo physicals to confirm that all relevant health information has been disclosed to the receiving team.
There's recent precedent for the results of a player's physical altering an agreed-upon trade.
During the 2017 offseason, the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired a notably injured Isaiah Thomas from the Boston Celtics. The results of Thomas' physical reportedly brought forth new information that gave the Cavs pause. The trade ultimately went through after the Celtics agreed to send an additional second-round pick to Cleveland.
In Leonard's case, the results of the physical carry some weight. The 27-year-old was held to just nine games during the 2017-18 campaign due to a litany of injuries.
