Report: Jackson also refuses to work out, provide medicals to Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies could find themselves in a tricky spot when they end up on the clock Thursday night.

The Grizzlies own the No. 4 pick in Thursday's NBA draft, and with the Suns, Kings, and Hawks keying in on Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley, and Luka Doncic, respectively, the two highest-rated prospects that project to be left on the board are big men Jaren Jackson and Mo Bamba.

One problem there: Bamba reportedly refuses to work out for or provide his medicals to the Grizzlies, and, according to ESPN's Jonathan Givony, so does Jackson.

That leaves the Grizzlies with a few options. They can just pick the guy they like best, regardless of whether they have the additional workout- and health-related intel, and hope said player softens on the idea of playing in Memphis. They can look past Jackson and Bamba and take the next-best guy available. Or, they can trade out of the No. 4 slot, as they've seemingly been trying to do in the lead-up to the draft anyway.

The deterrent tactics of their potential targets might ultimately force the Grizzlies' hand in the latter direction. They've been shopping that fourth pick in conjunction with Chandler Parsons (and Chandler Parsons' onerous contract), but to this point they've shown little interest in any of the offers they've received for that package, Givony reports.

The Los Angeles Clippers, who own the No. 12 and No. 13 picks, are considered strong contenders to move up in the draft by packaging those two lottery picks together, but they've "steadfastly refused" to take on Parsons' contract in a potential deal with the Grizzlies, according to Givony.
