Doncic not sold on immediate NBA move: 'We have yet to make this decision'
With the Phoenix Suns now officially the owners of the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft, there is some suggestion they could select Slovenian sensation Luka Doncic.
However, Doncic, currently playing at the EuroLeague Final Four with Real Madrid, isn't ready to think about a move stateside just yet and hinted he is considering all options for next season, including, perhaps, staying in Europe.
"I'm not sure if these are my last two games," Doncic said at the EuroLeague press conference, as per Alex Madrid of Eurohoops. "We have yet to make this decision. Perhaps after the season."
Part of the rationale linking Doncic and a move to Phoenix is that the Suns' new bench boss, Igor Kokoskov, coached the talent on the Slovenian national team last year.
However, with those comments now on record, Doncic may have strong leverage during the draft process with the option to return to Real Madrid for another season potentially on the table.
Across EuroLeague and Liga ACB play this season, Doncic is averaging 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists through 59 games played.
