Klay Thompson has a message to fans of opposing teams: Talk as much trash as you like as long as the target of the abuse is a player.

"They can attack our character, they can talk mess about us - as long as they don't go out of bounds with using people's children and their families," Thompson said at Golden State Warriors shootaround Monday, according to Yama Hazheer. "That's just over the line."

Earlier this week, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook had some notable run-ins with fans of the Utah Jazz, and later said they'd insulted his loved ones.

"I don't confront fans, fans confront me," Westbrook told reporters after the Thunder's season-ending defeat. "Here in Utah, a lot of disrespectful, vulgar things are said to the players ... talk about your families, your kids. It's just a disrespect to the game and I think it's something that needs to be brought up."

Thompson's had some similar experiences in the past.

"My family went through that in Cleveland a couple years ago," Thompson said. "But you can't put that on the Cavaliers. That's not their fault. They can't monitor everyone who comes in the building. ...

"It's not a big deal. It's unfortunate, but it's a really hard thing to monitor."
