Oubre on Wright drama: 'I'm the wrong person to go to war against'

Kelly Oubre Jr. insists he's not looking to start a fight, but he'll finish one if he has to.

The Washington Wizards small forward finds himself in a war of words with Delon Wright after claiming the Toronto Raptors guard only plays well within the friendly confines of Air Canada Centre.

Wright disagreed with that assessment, saying: "We'll see in Game 6."

Asked about the back-and-forth Friday afternoon, Oubre believes it's all a misunderstanding, saying he merely repeated what a reporter asked about Wright's road woes.

"Obviously the story sounds sexier when I say that he doesn't play well at home so that's the story that made the headlines," he said, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg.

Oubre indicated he doesn't have a problem with Wright, and that his fellow 2015 draft classmate is a "great player" who's performed well this season and in their first-round matchup.

At the same time, Oubre suggested he's the wrong guy to mess with, as he won't back down from a challenge.

"I'm not trying to do this psychological warfare," he said. "(Wright) can take it very personally, but at the end of the day if you want to go to war I'm the wrong person to go to war against, because if I die I'mma come back to life and kill you."

Oubre's averaging 10.6 points, four rebounds, and 1.2 steals in the playoffs, while shooting only 18.8 percent from 3-point range.

Game 6 goes Friday at Capital One Arena with Toronto leading the series 3-2.

Wright, who predicted the Raptors will be the fist team in the matchup to win a road game, has put up 15.6 points on 54 percent shooting in three wins in Toronto, but just 6.5 points on 33 percent shooting in D.C.
