A Michigan coroner has concluded that Grand Rapids Drive player Zeke Upshaw suffered a "sudden cardiac death" after collapsing during a G League game Saturday.
Kent County medical examiner Dr. Stephen Cohle observed "cardiac abnormalities" during the autopsy, adding that the investigation will continue, according to The Associated Press.
Upshaw, 26, died in hospital Monday.
The Chicago native played college basketball at Illinois State and Hofstra before spending two seasons in Europe. He joined the G League's Drive in 2016.
