Brooks, D'Antoni named Coaches of the Month
Scott Brooks and Mike D'Antoni, bench bosses for the Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets, respectively, have been named the Eastern and Western Conference Coaches of the Month for February.
In the absence of All-NBA point guard John Wall, Brooks has not only helped keep the Wizards afloat but helped them thrive. Adopting a more egalitarian offensive approach, Washington went 8-4 in February - with the league's best assist percentage - to remain in the East's top four and within spitting distance of No. 3.
D'Antoni, meanwhile, presided over a perfect 12-0 month, as his Rockets continued to pile up points while also posting the league's third-best defensive rating. They outscored opponents by a preposterous 15.6 points per 100 possessions and kept their nose ahead of the Golden State Warriors for top spot in the West.
