The NBA has granted the Detroit Pistons a $5.24-million disabled player exception which expires March 12, sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.
The exception should help with the continued absence of point guard Reggie Jackson, who hasn't played since Dec. 26 due to an ankle injury. He's expected back at the end of February at the earliest.
The Pistons haven't lost since acquiring Blake Griffin via trade on Jan. 29. The power forward is doing a fair amount of ball-handling, and another guard or wing player would come in handy for Detroit.
