Embiid felt great following 1st career back-to-back

Joel Embiid played in a back-to-back set for the first time in his career, and his body responded well.

"I felt great," the Philadelphia 76ers center said after Saturday's game against the Indiana Pacers, as quoted by ESPN.

"My legs weren't tired. My body was fine. I could feel it just a little bit. But I was fine."

Embiid recorded 24 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in 33 minutes in the 100-92 loss. He logged 31 minutes the previous night and led his side to a 103-97 victory over the Miami Heat.

The fact he's been cleared to play two games in a row is an important milestone for the budding star, who was drafted third overall in 2014 but sat out two years with foot injuries. Health concerns continued to plague him last season when he was limited to just 31 games and forced the team to take a cautious approach by managing his minutes.

The Process has been vying for more burn and proving his body can handle it. He's already surpassed the 31-game mark this year and is averaging 23.6 points, 11 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.8 blocks in 31.7 minutes over 40 contests while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from deep.

There's a lot for Embiid to be excited about, whether it's being available to play more, starting in his first All-Star Game, or going to the Super Bowl.
