Joe Johnson's tenure with the Sacramento Kings will be short-lived.
The 36-year-old veteran will reportedly seek a buyout from the Kings after the organization acquired him ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline, a source told NBA.com's David Aldridge.
Once that's complete, a number of playoff teams will likely look at bringing him aboard, but would have to do so before March 1 to make him eligible for a postseason run.
As part of a three-team trade involving the Utah Jazz and Cleveland Cavaliers, Johnson and Iman Shumpert landed in Sacramento, George Hill and Rodney Hood headed to Cleveland, and Utah acquired former league MVP Derrick Rose and Jae Crowder.
Johnson - who's making $10.5 million this season - reportedly wanted out of Salt Lake City, and would have asked for a buyout had the Jazz not found a new home for him.
His 7.3 points this season on just 42 percent shooting from the field and 27.4 percent from deep are his weakest offensive numbers since his sophomore year with the Boston Celtics.
