Report: Cavs scuttled Thomas' attempt to debut Wednesday vs. Kings
Isaiah Thomas is champing at the bit to make his debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The diminutive two-time All-Star attempted to play Wednesday night on the road against the Sacramento Kings, but the Cavaliers ultimately denied him the opportunity, according to Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon.
Thomas has been recovering from a labral tear in his right hip and hasn't appeared in an NBA game since last season's playoffs with the Boston Celtics. He's reportedly on track for an early-January debut with his new team, though there was some optimism he'd be able to suit up against the Kings.
That matchup, of course, holds special significance for Thomas: the Kings selected him with the final pick of the second round in the 2011 draft, before a falling out with the organization sparked his trade to the Phoenix Suns in 2014.
