Report: Kings shopping George Hill

Can't say this is a surprise.

The Sacramento Kings are reportedly testing the trade market for point guard George Hill after signing him to a three-year, $57-million deal this past offseason, according to Sporting News' Sean Deveney.

Hill was under the impression the Kings would be trying to compete for a playoff spot, according to Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune. Sacramento is currently 13th in the Western conference with only 10 wins through the first 30 games of the season.

The Kings have instead been testing their young core early and often, playing four rookies 18-plus minutes per game so far this season.

Hill is playing only 26 minutes per game, with two rookie point guards - Frank Mason and De'Aaron Fox - taking a big portion of his minutes. His regression from his strong play last season is evident, as he's averaging just 9.8 points and 2.6 assists per game.
