Livingston suspended 1 game, ref 1 week for altercation Sunday
Golden State Warriors guard Shaun Livingston has been suspended one game for making forehead-to-forehead contact with referee Courtney Kirkland while arguing a non-call during Sunday's contest with the Miami Heat, the NBA announced Monday.
Kirkland, who immediately tossed Livingston after the pair's heads made contact, has also been suspended. He'll be removed from the referee rotation for one week for his role in the altercation, which he helped escalate by moving toward Livingston after the latter had expressed his displeasure.
The league determined the official "shared responsibility for the contact that occurred."
Livingston will miss the Warriors' game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night, while Kirkland will be eligible to return to the ref rotation on Dec. 11.
