LaVar: Randle should have passed to Lonzo to beat Warriors in regulation

The Los Angeles Lakers had their chances, but ultimately fell to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.

LaVar Ball was vocal afterward on a "crucial point" where the Lakers dropped the ball, and what they should have done instead (spoiler alert: it involves a game-winner from his son).

"When Julius (Randle) got that ball at the end, he should've threw it forward. Lonzo (Ball) had a wide-open layup or a three-pointer, that's game!" LaVar told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

@Lavar Ball to me on a “crucial” opportunity Lakers missed that could have defeated Warriors in OT.

Randle had gotten a key stop on Kevin Durant with the game knotted at 109-109, and corralled the ball in the dying moments of regulation. The Lakers big man dribbled up the court (taking "too many dribbles", in LaVar's opinion) with Lonzo ahead of him in transition, before Luke Walton called a timeout with 5.3 seconds remaining.

Los Angeles drew up a play for Brandon Ingram, who missed a potential game-winning shot, sending the game to overtime where the home team would ultimately fall 127-123 to the defending champs.

LaVar - who criticized the Lakers last week, saying "they don't know how to coach (his) son" - indicated Walton shouldn't have burned a timeout when Randle and Lonzo were on the fast break.

"Do the Big Baller move; don't call no timeouts," he said.

Perhaps the bench boss will take LaVar's advice Saturday when the 8-13 Lakers visit the Denver Nuggets.
