Even as the Boston Celtics keep cruising, they continue to be bitten by the injury bug.

Rookie forward Jayson Tatum left Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers in the second quarter with a right ankle injury and did not return. He left the arena in a walking boot, and will undergo tests on Thursday, the team announced.

Tatum has been tremendous in his rookie season so far. Thrust into a larger role due to Gordon Hayward's injury, the 19-year-old came into Wednesday's game averaging 14.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, with a sparkling .500/.529/.822 shooting line.

The Celtics managed to beat the Lakers without Tatum and run their win streak to 10, but with Al Horford sidelined with a possible concussion, they can ill afford another long-term injury to another major rotation piece.

Boston's next game is Friday, when the team will host the Charlotte Hornets.
