Wizards' Morris to make season debut Friday vs. Cavs
Markieff Morris is ready to go.
The Washington Wizards power forward has been cleared to play after recovering from surgery to repair a sports hernia, per Chase Hughes of NBCS.
"I feel like I'm ready to play," Morris told reporters Tuesday, according to ESPN.com.
Before Morris can take to the floor, though, he must serve his one-game suspension for leaving the bench during an altercation in Friday's loss to the Golden State Warriors. He'll do so Wednesday when his former team, the Phoenix Suns, visits D.C.
The 28-year-old will make his season debut Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Wizards announced he'll start and be on a minutes restriction. Kelly Oubre Jr.'s floor time is expected to take a hit, as he's been starting in Keef's stead.
Morris underwent the procedure in late September and was slated to miss six-to-eight weeks.
He averaged 14 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals last season for Washington.
