Parsons calls boos from Grizzlies fans 'tasteless'

Memphis Grizzlies fans are fed up with Chandler Parsons and vice versa.

Parsons was booed by his home fans in the season opener as he pieced together a six-point performance in 15 uninspiring minutes off the bench. That led Parsons to speak out after the game.

"It's tasteless," Parsons told Geoff Calkins of The Commercial Appeal. "I'll treat home games like road games if that's the way it's going to be."

Frustration among Grizzlies fans has been building from the moment Parsons signed a maximum contract in the summer of 2016 to be the supposed final piece in a contending team. Not only has Parsons failed to meet those lofty expectations, but he wasn't even a passable rotation player in the few moments he was healthy last season.

He averaged 6.2 points on 33.8 percent shooting in 34 appearances for the Grizzlies as an undeserving starter. Parsons has since been demoted to the second unit as he continues his long recovery from persistent knee injuries, but Grizzlies fans are evidently fed up, and so is Parsons.
