Mark Cuban believes Donald Trump must learn how to deal with the backlash if he continues his condemnation of athletes.

The Dallas Mavericks owner shared his thoughts after the president criticized both the NBA and NFL this weekend, saying it will be interesting to see how Trump responds after being put on blast by a number of athletes.

"If the president's going to say something condemning a person, an industry, a sport, then he's got to be able to take the blowback that's going to come back," Cuban told NBC News in an interview for "Meet the Press."

Many players across the NBA fired back at Trump on social media after the president tweeted he had rescinded the Golden State Warriors' invitation to visit the White House because Steph Curry "hesitated." LeBron James was among those to take a shot at the 45th president, referring to him as "a bum."

"So LeBron (James) and Steph and any athlete, any owner, it's an open door now, and so they have every right for the same reasons to be able to say whatever’s on their mind," Cuban said. "Now we'll be able to see if he can take it."

Cuban also argued that if politicians have an issue with sports and politics overlapping, they should stop accepting donations from prominent figures across the sports world.
