Cousins trying to recruit 'biggest names on the block' to New Orleans
Having the best frontcourt in the league isn't enough.
DeMarcus Cousins is doing his best to campaign on behalf of the New Orleans Pelicans in hopes of recruiting a third superstar to join himself and Anthony Davis as the Pelicans look to return to the postseason.
"I've reached out to everybody," Cousins told Jim Eichenhofer of Pelicans.com with regards to recruitment. "I don't want to throw out names, but some of the biggest names on the block."
The early returns on Cousins' efforts are relatively modest, although much of that can be attributed to a lack of flexibility on the part of the Pelicans. Adding Rajon Rondo for just $3.3 million could provide huge value, but New Orleans mostly returned the same team from last season.
But Cousins does have the ear of fellow Kentucky alum, as evidenced by the Rondo addition. The four-time all-star has frequently voiced his hope to reunite with John Wall, although that dream is distant now that Wall inked a lengthy extension to remain with Washington.
