Report: Wizards intend to match Porter's offer sheet from Nets

The Washington Wizards intend to match the reported offer sheet that Otto Porter signed with the Brooklyn Nets, sources told The Vertical's Chris Mannix.

The offer sheet is reportedly worth $106 million over four years - an average salary of $26.5 million per season. While that number is likely well higher than what the Wizards wanted to pay the four-year pro, they can ill afford to lose their third-leading scorer and one of their top defensive players.

The Nets were a surprise player for Porter's services, and should the Wizards match, it would mark the second straight summer Brooklyn has swung (and missed) at restricted free agents. Last year, the Miami Heat matched the Nets' four-year, $50-million offer to Tyler Johnson, while the Portland Trail Blazers matched Brooklyn's four-year, $75-million offer to Allen Crabbe.
