Draymond knew he only had 1 tech in Game 4 foul fiasco

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was less confused than most people inside Quicken Loans Arena by Friday's technical-foul fiasco, but he's still not quite sure what happened.

Almost everyone thought Green was set to be ejected for receiving his second technical of Game 4 midway through the third quarter. His first technical, though, was subsequently credited to Warriors coach Steve Kerr after an apparent mix-up at the scorer's table.

Green said he knew he'd keep playing because he'd overheard the original call on Kerr, but still doesn't know why he got a technical foul at all.

"Yeah, I knew," Green said postgame, according to the Mercury News' Anthony Slater. "Because the first technical on Steve (Kerr), which I didn't understand, (referee) Mike Callahan came up to (referee) John (Goble) and asked who the technical was on and he said: 'Kerr.' So I knew I didn't have a technical foul. But still trying to figure out why I got the 'second' one. "

According to Green, the referees wouldn't provide an explanation for what had caused the confusion about the technicals.

"I didn't get one. They told me to keep playing. I asked them and they told me to keep playing," said Green.

Green called the officiating in Game 4 "a little different" with a slight grin on his face, and admitted that the game got "a little bit" out of hand. He added that he was perplexed by the decision to serve both Kevin Durant and LeBron James with technical fouls during their heated exchange.

"If you're going to separate them, separate them," Green said. "Don't just stand there and watch them talk, wait for them to talk and then double-tech. Tell them to move. I don't really know what that accomplishes."
