Report: Hawks to interview Chauncey Billups for GM job

The Atlanta Hawks will interview former All-NBA point guard Chauncey Billups for their general manager position, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Billups has worked as a studio analyst since retiring from playing in 2014. The 40-year-old averaged 15.2 points and 5.4 assists in 1,043 games across 17 NBA seasons. He was a five-time All-Star, three-time All-NBAer, two-time All-Defensive team member, and the 2004 Finals MVP.

The Hawks have significant front-office vacancies to fill after head coach Mike Budenholzer relinquished his joint role as president of basketball operations and former GM Wes Wilcox was reassigned within the organization after the season.

The Hawks also reportedly have Golden State Warriors assistant general manager Travis Schlenk and Washington Wizards vice president Tommy Sheppard on their list of candidates for one or both of those vacant roles. Former Detroit Pistons GM Joe Dumars, Houston Rockets vice president Gersson Rosas, and New York Knicks director of player personnel Mark Hughes are also reportedly on their radar.
