Bucks' Hammond signs reported 5-year deal to become Magic GM

Former Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond has agreed to a deal with the Orlando Magic to become their new GM, the team announced Tuesday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it's reportedly a five-year contract, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Hammond will work under president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman, who was officially hired by the Magic on Tuesday. The two already have a strong relationship, with Weltman working as Hammond's assistant in Milwaukee from 2008-13.
Hammond has spent the nine seasons with the Bucks after succeeding Larry Harris as GM in 2008. Milwaukee reached the postseason just four times during that span, with Hammond taking home Executive of the Year honors in 2009-10.
Hammond's departure will likely clear the way for assistant GM Justin Zanik to be promoted after he was reportedly hired as Milwaukee's "GM-in-waiting" last season.
