Washington Wizards power forward Markieff Morris will not return to Sunday's Game 1 versus the Boston Celtics after suffering an ankle injury in the second quarter, the team announced.
Morris sustained the injury after landing on the foot of Celtics big man Al Horford in the first half.
Morris finished the contest with five points, three rebounds, and a block in 11 minutes.
The loss of Morris is a potentially big blow for the Wizards, who are already without backup center Ian Mahinmi.
Kelly Oubre Jr. and Jason Smith should see extended minutes for Washington should Morris continue to miss time.
