Suns' Tyson Chandler: Continues to dominate on the glass
Chandler finished Sunday's 119-108 loss to the Lakers with nine points (4-4 FG, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds and three steals across 30 minutes.
Analysis:
After he saw his production and playing time take a dive during an injury-plagued 2015-16 season, a healthy Chandler has enjoyed a bit of a renaissance through the first seven games of the new campaign. The center is averaging 7.4 points per game (on 67.7% shooting from the field) to go with 13.3 rebounds per game, with the latter figure ranking third in the NBA behind the Pistons' Andre Drummond (14.7) and the Heat's Hassan Whiteside (14.2). Despite the lofty board total, Chandler isn't quite the elite defender he once was, as the 34-year-old's rim-protecting skills have seemingly fallen by the wayside. After averaging only 0.7 blocks per game last season, Chandler has collected only two so far over his seven contests.
