Report: Thunder, Oladipo agree to 4-year, $84M extension
The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a four-year, $84-million contract extension with shooting guard Victor Oladipo, sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.
The news comes as the Thunder are reportedly finalizing a $100-million extension with center Steven Adams ahead of Monday's 11:59 p.m. ET deadline.
Oladipo, the second overall pick in the 2013 draft, was acquired from the Orlando Magic in an offseason trade as part of a package for outgoing power forward Serge Ibaka.
Oladipo has averaged 17 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and one steal in his first three games with the Thunder, after averaging 15.9, 4.3, four, and 1.6 in his three seasons with the Magic. Though he hasn't flashed the superstar potential his draft billing might've suggested, he's a solid two-way wing, and, at just 24 years old, the Thunder are locking him up for his ostensible prime.
With Ibaka and Kevin Durant gone, and Adams nearing a deal, the Thunder are solidifying their new core around Russell Westbrook, who they extended in the offseason for three years and $85 million.
