Pelicans' Jrue Holiday: Missing start of season
Holiday will miss the start of the regular season to be with his pregnant wife, who is set to undergo brain surgery, Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis:
Holiday was expected to be healthy for the upcoming season after an injury riddled three years with the Pelicans, but he'll now miss an indefinite amount of time. His wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June but doctors said they couldn't operate on her until after she gave birth, which pushed the surgery and subsequent recovery into the start of the NBA season. How long Holiday will be out is unclear, but E'Twaun Moore and Tim Frazier will figure to see extra minutes for the early parts of the year.
