Jay-Z may still get to sit courtside, Knicks and Nets giving him high fives, but apparently Kevin Durant won't be one of them - even after the rap mogul tried to convince the superstar free agent to meet with both New York City teams.

Hova's attempt to guide Durant fell on deaf ears, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"Sources tell me that Jay-Z really pushed his people to try to convince Kevin to meet with Brooklyn, to meet with the Knicks," Wojnarowski reported. "And he hasn't done it."

The move isn't particularly surprising, as Durant is represented by Roc Nation - which is run partly by Jay-Z.

Durant is presently in the process of meeting with a reported six teams. The free agent told media on Monday he would discuss with his advisers the idea of meeting with the Knicks, but apparently no such get-together has been scheduled. The Nets were never expected to be on Durant's radar, but their place as New York City's second NBA team evidently had Jay-Z - who used to own a fraction of the franchise - hoping for a meeting.

To perhaps add insult to the injury of the Gotham teams seemingly being ignored by Durant, is the fact that he is reportedly conducting some of his free agent interviews in The Hamptons - the coastal getaway region for the city's elite 90 miles east of Manhattan.
