Report: Ex-NBA player Nate Robinson to try out for Seahawks
Former NBA point guard Nate Robinson announced earlier this year his desire to pursue an NFL career, and now he's one big step closer to realizing that dream.
Robinson will try out for the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, Master Tesfatsion and Mark Maske of The Washington Post report, citing sources.
No signing is expected, but the Seahawks will keep tabs on Robinson for a potential signing down the road, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 32-year-old appeared in two games for the New Orleans Pelicans this season, but likely knows his NBA career is over.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Robinson, a three-time NBA slam dunk champion, played defensive back at the University of Washington in 2002 and intercepted two passes in 13 games before shifting his focus to basketball the next year.
Robinson will reportedly try out for the Seahawks as a defensive back. Considering the team boasts the "Legion of Boom," one of the NFL's best secondaries, it could be a tall order for the diminutive Robinson to earn a spot on the roster.
