Report: Love 'really frustrated' Cavs made him sit out Game 3
The Cleveland Cavaliers will play Game 3 of the NBA Finals without Kevin Love, and Love is reportedly none too pleased about it.
The power forward remains in the NBA's concussion protocol after taking an elbow to the head in Game 2. He was not medically cleared by Cavs doctors to participate Wednesday, a decision that has Love "really frustrated," according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Given that Love was forced to sit out nearly the entirety of the Cavs' playoff run last year - his first-ever taste of the postseason - after suffering a separated shoulder in Round 1, his frustration is understandable.
But the team simply appears to be complying with the NBAs safety protocol, which is in place precisely for this reason. That is, to protect players whose desire to play - even through head injuries - would lead them to self-diagnose, and preclude them protecting themselves.
