Things have gone from bad to worse for the Boston Celtics.

On the heels of losing Avery Bradley and Game 1 to the Atlanta Hawks, the Celtics stumbled out of the gate in Game 2 by scoring just seven points in the first quarter.

That set the NBA record for fewest first-quarter points scored in a playoff game, according to Basketball Reference.

Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics in scoring with three points on 1-of-6 shooting in the quarter. On the whole, Brad Stevens' roster shot 3-of-23 in the opening frame, split a pair of free throws, and committed five turnovers en route to an eventual 72-point output on 31.8 percent shooting for the game.

Ironically, the Hawks held the previous record for futility when they managed just eight points against the Celtics in 1988.
