'Jacare' gets support from Kennedy ahead of Belfort fight

Tim Kennedy wasn't pleased when he heard someone else would be fighting Vitor Belfort, so he's finding another way to work out his aggression.

In a Twitter post, Kennedy offered his services to Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza who is scheduled to face Belfort at UFC Fight Night 87 on May 14.

"Jacare" and Kennedy previously fought in 2010, a closely contested match for the vacant Strikeforce middleweight championship that Souza won by unanimous decision.

It was a frustrating loss for Kennedy at the time, but he's moved on to other targets since then. His primary concern now is cleaning up the sport of MMA and that makes him a natural foil for fighters like Belfort who have a history of failed drug tests.

For now, Kennedy will have to be satisfied with helping Souza topple Belfort until he gets another match booked himself. The United States Army Ranger has not competed since September 2014.
