Aldo undeterred by devastating KO at hands of McGregor: 'I want a rematch'

Jose Aldo is itching to get back into the cage with Conor McGregor.

A six-year title run came to a screeching halt on Saturday when McGregor floored Aldo with the perfect punch, a 13-second knockout that sent ripples through the MMA world. Though, the deposed champion was not deterred by the disappointing result.

"We spoke (with Dana White) right after. But I think it's too soon to talk," Aldo told Combate, according to Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com. "Of course, I want a rematch, I think I have this right. Not only me, but my career speaks for itself."

Prior to UFC 194, Aldo's story had been one of total domination. He won 25 of his first 26 fights, a stretch that included victories over Urijah Faber, Kenny Florian, Chad Mendes, and Frankie Edgar.

Most of those contests saw Aldo in complete control, which made the abrupt end to his championship reign all the more shocking.

"It still is too hard to digest," Aldo said. "We trained hard, did everything right, and the result wasn't positive. It takes a while for us to digest, but it's part (of the sport)."
