Gadelha to get 1st shot at strawweight title in rematch with Jedrzejczyk

One of the closest title fights in recent memory is getting a second turn.

With her unanimous decision victory over Jessica Aguilar at UFC 190 on Saturday, Claudia Gadelha earned herself a second bout with Joanna Jedrzejczyk and her first shot at the women's strawweight title.

Gadelha asked for the title shot immediately following her win, claiming she's "here to kick ass" and "the best strawweight in the world." UFC president Dana White may or may not agree, but at the very least, he wants to find out if the Brazilian is right.

"She looked amazing tonight," White said, confirming that Gadelha-Jedrzejczyk II will be the next 115-pound title fight. "She did. Against a very well-respected opponent, she looked amazing."

Jedrzejczyk is 10-0 and 4-0 in the UFC, winning the strawweight title from Carla Esparza at UFC 185 in March. She had earned the title shot thanks to an incredibly close, split-decision victory over Gadelha in December, and successfully defended the belt against Jessica Penne in June.

The rematch should prove intense, as Gadelha and Jedrzejczyk don't seem fond of each other, and their last bout ended in a small degree of controversy thanks to a perceived late punch from Gadelha.
