UFC's first foray into Scotland sells out in mere hours

It didn't take long for fans to gobble up tickets for the UFC's debut in Scotland.

According to UFC officials, the 13,000 seat SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow sold out "in a matter of hours," and they're hoping the crowd will be as raucous as the one that tore the house down in Dublin last year.

"Scottish fans have overwhelmed us with their enthusiasm and support for this event and the announced bouts on the card," UFC EMEA SVP and GM David Allen said, according MMAjunkie.com. "There is a great deal of hype around this event, and we can't wait to get to Glasgow in July.

"With a sellout as quick as this, the only question remaining is, 'Are Scottish fans going to be louder and more passionate than the Irish fans, who set the decibel record in the 3Arena at the Dublin event last year?'"

UFC Fight Night 72 takes place on July 18, and features a middleweight clash between Michael Bisping and Thales Leites as the main event.
