- In one of the most dominant title seizures in MMA history, Joanna Jedrzejczyk absolutely decimated Carla Esparza at UFC 185, brutalizing the former champion for the better part of nine minutes before referee Don Turnage mercifully put an end to the carnage at 4:17 of the second round.
- Claudia Gadelha, who took Jedrzejczyk to the limit at UFC on FOX 13 in December, was scheduled to face Aisling Daly on April 11 with a potential title shot on the line, but had to pull out of the bout with a back injury.
- Slick Scottish striker Joanne Calderwood could punch her ticket to a title shot with an emphatic victory over Maryna Moroz at UFC Fight Night 64 in April. The undefeated Calderwood was triumphant in her UFC debut in December, besting Seo Hee Ham via unanimous decision.
