- Bantamweight kingpin T.J. Dillashaw and former champion Renan Barao are set to violently renew acquaintances at UFC 186 in April. A disastrous weight cut forced Barao to pull out of their originally planned rematch in August, and Dillashaw was forced to defend his title against late replacement Joe Soto.
- The last man to defeat Dillashaw, Rafael Assuncao, had to bow out of his upcoming bout with division stalwart Urijah Faber when it was revealed that his broken ankle wasn't healing fast enough. Faber and Assuncao have squared off once before, with Faber scoring a rear-naked choke victory at WEC 46 in 2010.
