Tibau plans on opening a bakery after he finishes his MMA career

When most MMA fighters finally decide to step away from the cage and limp off into the sunset, they stay involved with the sport in some capacity. Whether it's opening their own gym, or training younger fighters, most pugilists have a tough time vanishing from the sport entirely.

While he's not ready to hang up his four oz. gloves yet, UFC lightweight Gleison Tibau plans on going in a more delicious direction when he eventually decides to leave the sport he's been a part of for the better part of a decade and a half.

“I’ve been a professional fighter since age 15. I currently devote my sweat and blood to my career. But there’s only so much abuse a body can take,” Tibau told MMAjunkie. “When I retire, I want to move back to my hometown of Tibau in Brazil and start up a baking business. I’ll remain big a fan of the sport, but I won’t be teaching or cornering fighters. Nothing. One of my dreams is to open a great cookie and bread factory. My father was a baker for many years. But I’ll keep eating healthy and exercising because I wouldn’t want to be an overweight businessman.”

Tibau (28-10) is set to face tough-as-leather veteran Pat Healy at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller on July 16.
