Former interim featherweight champion Yair Rodriguez has withdrawn from the Noche UFC main event against Jean Silva for undisclosed reasons, sources told MMA Fighting's Guilherme Cruz.
Jose Delgado has reportedly agreed to step in against Silva on less than a month's notice. The event is scheduled for Sept. 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Rodriguez hasn't stepped into the Octagon since defeating former Bellator champion Patricio "Pitbull" Freire at UFC 314 in April 2025. The 33-year-old Mexican was looking to put together his first winning streak in over three years.
Silva is coming off a unanimous decision win over Arnold Allen at UFC 324 in January. The 29-year-old Brazilian rebounded from a knockout loss against Diego Lopes in the headliner of last year's Noche UFC event. Silva holds a 6-1 record in the promotion.
Delgado is seeking the biggest win of his career. The 28-year-old Arizona native has already secured back-to-back victories against Austin Bashi and Andre Fili this year. Delgado is 4-1 in the Octagon, with his lone loss coming against Nathaniel Wood last October.
Silva and Delgado are ranked Nos. 6 and 14 in the 145-pound division, respectively.
This year's Noche UFC event will also feature a women's flyweight bout between former champion Alexa Grasso and Manon Fiorot, as well as a men's flyweight tilt between ex-champ Brandon Moreno and Joseph Morales.
