UFC legend Jon Jones doesn't think Islam Makhachev has come close to surpassing him as the greatest fighter of all time.

Jones, the former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, pushed back on Makhachev's case Wednesday in a post on X.

"Hopped on social media and heard there was a new GOAT?" Jones wrote. "I'm so confused. Make it make sense."

Makhachev, the welterweight champion, defended the title for the first time at UFC 330 last weekend, earning a unanimous decision victory over Ian Machado Garry in Philadelphia. With the victory, Makhachev, who previously held the lightweight belt, surpassed Anderson Silva for the longest winning streak in UFC history (17).

Despite Makhachev's latest achievement, Jones appears to still believe he's the greatest fighter ever. Jones, who retired from MMA last year, holds numerous UFC records, including the most title-fight wins (16), most successful title defenses (12), and most consecutive light heavyweight title defenses (eight).

The 39-year-old New York native has kept the door open on a return to the UFC since his retirement.
