Garry vs. Buckley to headline UFC Tampa in December
A welterweight fight between Ian Machado Garry and Joaquin Buckley will headline UFC Tampa, the promotion announced Friday.
The event is scheduled for Dec. 14 at Amalie Arena and is the final UFC card of the year.
Garry and Buckley rank seventh and ninth in the welterweight division, respectively.
Garry is 15-0 in his MMA career, including seven straight wins since making his UFC debut in 2021. The 26-year-old most recently defeated Michael Page by unanimous decision at UFC 303 in June. The December headliner will be his third bout of 2024.
Buckley claimed the biggest win of his career on Oct. 5 after knocking out Stephen Thompson at UFC 307. The 30-year-old is 3-0 this year and has won all five Octagon appearances since returning to welterweight in May 2023.
UFC Tampa will also feature a top-10 bout between women's strawweight Amanda Ribas and Mackenzie Dern.
