A handful of epic matchups are headed to UFC 299 on March 9 in Miami.

Former title challenger Gilbert Burns meets Jack Della Maddalena at welterweight, rising 170-pound star Ian Machado Garry takes on Geoff Neal, and former bantamweight champion Petr Yan faces Song Yadong.

UFC CEO Dana White announced the new fights Saturday night.

The event will be headlined by bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley's first title defense against Marlon Vera, while Michael "Venom" Page is set to make his Octagon debut against Kevin Holland.

Burns is looking to get back on track - and into the title conversation again - after suffering a lopsided decision loss to Belal Muhammad in May. Della Maddalena holds a 6-0 UFC record and is one of the most promising welterweights on the roster.

Garry and Neal were booked to meet at UFC 292 in August, but Neal pulled out of the bout and Garry went on to dominate Neil Magny instead. The Irishman, 6-0 in the promotion, was scheduled to face Vicente Luque at UFC 296 on Saturday but withdrew during fight week after contracting pneumonia. Neal is hoping to bounce back from a March submission loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov.

Yan, who held the 135-pound title from 2020-21, is riding a three-fight losing streak and is seeking his first victory since October 2021. Song has won two in a row, including a unanimous decision over Chris Gutierrez in last weekend's UFC Fight Night main event.
