Pedro Munhoz suffered a corneal abrasion in his right eye at UFC 276 on Saturday, he told ESPN's Marc Raimondi on Sunday.
The bantamweight contender's main-card bout against Sean O'Malley was ruled a no-contest in the second round after Munhoz couldn't continue due to an accidental eye poke by O'Malley.
Munhoz told Raimondi he could not open his eye and needed several medications to treat it. It's unclear how long it'll take Munhoz to recover from the injury.
O'Malley said after the fight he "100%" thought Munhoz wanted out of the bout. Two of three judges scored the first round for Munhoz.
Munhoz was looking to snap a two-fight skid, while O'Malley was gunning for his fourth straight victory.
UFC 276 took place in Las Vegas and featured two title bouts, including middleweight champion Israel Adesanya's unanimous decision win over Jared Cannonier.
