Munhoz demands Edgar rematch, says he was 'screwed' by judges
Pedro Munhoz's message is clear: He wants to run it back with Frankie Edgar.
The UFC bantamweight called for an immediate rematch Monday, two days after losing a controversial split decision to Edgar in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
"I've always done my talking in the Octagon, but this needs to be said," Munhoz wrote on Instagram. "I work too hard to get screwed by poor judges who have no training and even less accountability. Look at the stats and the damage. Look at the 17 of 20 media sites who agreed I won, seven of which had it 49-46. Tell me how the deciding judge gave Round 3 to Frankie. He's a legend, but I won that fight and want a rematch now (UFC president Dana White)."
One judge scored the fight 49-46 in favor of Munhoz, while the two others scored it 48-47 for Edgar.
Munhoz - who entered Saturday's bout coming off a unanimous decision loss to top contender Aljamain Sterling - has now lost two straight fights. The Brazilian's most recent win was a first-round knockout of former champ Cody Garbrandt in March 2019.
Edgar, meanwhile, snapped a two-fight skid with last weekend's narrow victory.
